Conservatives need still more self-examination

Since the election of President Obama, conservative voices have rightfully spent more attention on analyzing where things have gone wrong. I have been puzzled since the conservative blogs have thrived why the mix of criticism has been heavily directed towards our political opponents instead of our own mechanics. After all, it is far more easy for a conservative blog to influence conservatives as opposed to the casual moderate.

Perhaps the "Reagan Rule" about not denigrating other conservatives is being misapplied. Sure, a CANDIDATE should be careful abut damaging friendly candidates, but we must improve our techniques for selecting candidates and communication in general.

In my view, we conservatives caused the current mess by inattention and general ineptitude. I would appreciate hearing of the more prominent voices who have been focusing more on how conservatives should reorganize as opposed to how elected democrats are behaving like democrats.

What say you?
